Erin Patricia Dufresne

Erin Patricia (Sumner) Dufresne, 58, of Taunton, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Kurt B. Dufresne who died on March 11, 2006.Born on March 24, 1959 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of Harold L. Sumner and the late Joan A. (Carey) Sumner.A graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1977, and Merrimack College, Erin worked for twenty-five years for the former Eureka Manufacturing and Reed & Barton companies in Taunton, MA.Erin was a resident of Taunton for the past thirty-two years. She attended St. John the Evangelist Parish in Attleboro. A warm and loving woman, she cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping and proudly cared for her home. Erin loved to travel, especially visiting New Hampshire, Vermont, and trips to California. She loved sailing, the beach, the ocean, and her faithful dog, "Brody".She was the loving and beloved mother of Shane B. Dufresne of Ormond Beach, FL; Zachary K. Dufresne and his wife, Melissa N. Dufresne, of New Bedford, MA; and Caitlin S. Parece and her husband Manuel A. Parece, IV, of Taunton, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Ella Mae Parece, Hunter A. Dufresne, Lylah E. Parece, Bryson R. Dufresne, and Manuel A. Parece, V. Erin was the sister of Carey H. Sumner and his wife, Lynn Sumner, of Providence, RI; Kara J. Sumner of Harwich Port, MA; and Shannon M. Sumner of Harwich Port, MA. She was the sister of the late Ted N. Sumner and Sean Raymond Sumner and his late wife, Regina A. Sumner. She leaves several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many dear friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Erin by gathering for a Visitation on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
