Eric George Morris, 76, of Katherine Road, Dennisport and Jefferson Street, Attleboro, died on Monday, October 24, 2011 at his residence on Cape Cod surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband and best friend of Dorothy Margaret (Jones) Morris to whom he was married on September 5, 1959 in Wrexham, North Wales, United Kingdom. Born in Wrexham, North Wales, United Kingdom on June 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Robert Henry and Hilda (Guy) Morris. He was raised and educated in his native homeland and proudly served in the British Army for two years as a member of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers 1st Battalion Marching Band. In 1968, Mr. Morris immigrated to the United States and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1982. Upon immigrating to the United States, Mr. Morris settled in Attleboro where he resided for 39 years prior to retiring to Cape Cod and settling in Dennisport although he still maintained his Attleboro residence. Prior to his retirement in 2004 due to illness, he was the founder and owner of the Eric Morris Plumbing and Heating Company in Attleboro for more than 30 years which his son Stephen continues to operate. As a master plumber, he was a graduate of the Old Colony Trade School in Brockton. As a member of the Masonic Order, Mr. Morris was a member of the Bristol Lodge A.F. & A.M. in North Attleboro. His favorite pastimes included working on his house on Cape Cod, reading and was an ardent New England Patriots fan. He will be most remembered for the love he showed his family and his love for singing. In addition to his wife and best friend of more than 52 years, he leaves two devoted sons: Stephen J. Morris and his wife, Jane (Sincere) Morris, of Rehoboth and Guy A. Morris and his wife, Lauren (Wegerdt) Morris, of Franklin; five cherished grandchildren: Brooke, Ashley and Rachelle Morris all of Franklin and Robert and Jack Morris both of Rehoboth; a brother: R. Donald Morris of Wales and several extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Joan Gray. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 121 North Main Street Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Bailey Whitbeck, officiating. Burial will be private. An invitation to join the family for continued fellowship and refreshments will be extended at the conclusion of services.
