Emmett Larkin, 52 City of Attleboro Recreation Commissioner Emmett Larkin, 52, of Bishop Street, Attleboro, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 unexpectedly at home. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Healy) to whom he was married for nearly 27 happy years and the devoted father to his three sons, Brendan (25), Danny (23) and Ryan (18). Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 25, 1958, he was a son of Nora E. (Monahan) Larkin of Attleboro; formerly of Westwood and the late Edward Joseph Larkin who died the previous day, Saturday, January 29, 2011. Raised and educated in Westwood, Emmett was a 1977 graduate of Westwood High School. Prior to moving to Attleboro in 1987, he was a resident of Quincy having moved there from his native community of Westwood. Emmett treasured the times spent with family and friends and was proud of his Irish heritage. He served as a City of Attleboro Recreation Commissioner and was actively involved in Attleboro Youth Baseball for many years. He mentored countless youth in his love of sports and team-building over his many years of coaching. He was also an ardent sports enthusiast and was among the most dedicated and devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. Emmett dearly loved his devoted dogs Dublin and Liam and looked forward to reuniting with his old friends, Brady and Casey, in his next life. Emmett earned his A.S. in Electronics Engineering from RETS School of Electronics in Boston in 1982 and was a certified project manager with Hewlett Packard and received additional training in Microsoft Network Training and Channel Delivery and Development Certification. Previously, he worked for Compaq Computers, Inc., Boston until the firm was acquired by Hewlett Packard. From 1993 1998, Mr. Larkin was employed as a service and support manager for Unicom/MicroAge in Dedham and Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to his wife, sons and mother, Emmett also leaves; a sister: Kathleen P. Connell of Upton; two brothers: James M. Larkin of Brockton and Dermott J. Larkin of Attleboro and a large extended family consisting of many in-laws, several nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends all of who will greatly miss him. Irwin and the Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, con-celebrating. Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Moose Cabin in Attleboro. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral procession is being organized prior to the Funeral Mass.
