Emily Jane Harrop

Emily Jane Harrop, 26, of South Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Norton; died unexpectedly and accidentally on Monday, June 23, 2014 in Mansfield. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on December 1, 1987, she was a daughter of Howard T. Harrop, Jr. and Suzanne (Kummer) Harrop of Norton. She was raised in Norton where she resided until moving to North Attleboro three years ago. Miss Harrop was a graduate of the Foxboro Regional Charter School, Class of 2006. She attended the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth. Since 2010, Miss Harrop was employed by the Hockomock Area YMCA in a number of capacities including her most recent role as School Age Coordinator at the AmVet and Community Schools in North Attleboro. She attended the South Attleboro Assembly of God. Her favorite pastimes included spending time in the company of family and friends, reading, using social media such as Facebook to share photographs and status updates and communicating via telephone with her friends and treasured the times spent at Hideaway Village on Buttermilk Bay in Bourne, MA. In addition to her parents, Miss Harrop leaves her brother: John H. Harrop of Norton; her maternal grandmother: Theresa I. (Gagnon) Kummer of Bourne; her paternal grandfather: Howard T. Harrop, Sr. and his companion, Mary Alicia Ferrante, of Lincoln, Rhode Island; her paternal grandmother: Donna L. Robinson and her husband, David M. Robinson, of North Attleboro and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She was the maternal granddaughter of the late William C. Kummer. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a casual Celebration of Emily's Life on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the family residence at 4 Draper Street, Norton beginning at 2:00 P.M. Private burial will be in Shepardville Cemetery, Plainville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Love Offering at Candleberry Chapel, 381 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
