Emily Frances (Rodrigues) Correia, 96, of Newport Avenue, South Attleboro; formerly of County Street, Attleboro, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Victorian Mansion in South Attleboro where she had resided for the past three years. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Correia, Sr. to whom she was married on September 3, 1943 and died on April 1, 2005. Born in Newport, Rhode Island on April 16, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Aquilla) Rodrigues. She attended East Providence, Rhode Island schools and resided there until 1943 when she moved to the City of Attleboro. Mrs. Correia was a dedicated and devoted homemaker and later worked for the Attleboro School Department as a cafeteria employee at Attleboro High School. She was also a bookkeeper for the family business, Correia Brothers Pig Farm in Attleboro. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Attleboro. She enjoyed the times spent with friends at the Larson Senior Center in Attleboro and playing bingo and cards. Mrs. Correia was a member of the Portuguese-American Club in Attleboro. She leaves her son: John J. Correia, Jr. of Attleboro; a brother: Edwin Rodrigues of Castro Valley, California and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Mary Campbell Cunniff, Manuel Rodrigues and James Rodrigues. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Riley J. Williams, Parochial Vicar, of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Correia's memory to the charity of one's choice.
