Emile S. Lemieux, Jr., 72, of Woodchip Square, North Attleboro, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Patricia Ann (Dunn) Lemieux to whom he was married on March 16, 1996. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 20, 1940, Mr. Lemieux was the son of the late Emile S. Lemieux, Sr. and Dorothy (Senecal) Lemieux. He was raised and educated in Warwick where he was a 1959 graduate of Veteran's Memorial High School. Mr. Lemieux proudly served in the United States Air Force from his enlistment on September 2, 1959 until his honorable discharge on August 29, 1963. He was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service having served the Warwick community for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1995. A resident of North Attleboro for more than ten years, Mr. Lemieux previously resided in Plainville and Cape Coral and North Fort Myers, Florida. While living in Florida and enjoying his retirement he was employed as a poker dealer for a local casino for two years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran's in Providence, Rhode Island. His favorite pastimes included playing poker and cards. In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves three children: Lesia J. Bishop of Westerly, Rhode Island; Scott F. Lemieux of North Attleboro and Diane Kosman of Central Falls, Rhode Island; two stepchildren: Deborah A. Piantedosi of Taunton and Crystal A. Martineau of Plainville; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his siblings: Arlene Britton of El Cajon, California; Anna May Miller of Madison, CT; Jane Deroscher of Exeter, RI; Constance Arlia of Warwick, RI; Charles Lemieux in Florida and Paul R. Lemieux of Providence, RI; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 8:45 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with Rev. David Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.
