Elizabeth "Betty-Lu" Louise Lesperance

Elizabeth "Betty-Lu" Louise (Connelly) Lesperance, 73, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of Lloyd Eugene Lesperance, to whom she was married on November 28, 1987.Born on March 11, 1945 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick H. Connelly Sr., and the late Marie (McNally) Connelly.A graduate of North Attleboro High School, she attended beauty school in Boston, MA. She worked for twenty-five years as a hairdresser and beautician for several area businesses, and in Plainville, MA as a factory worker in the field of blistering.A lifelong resident of North Attleboro, she was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church there.A woman of many interests, Betty-Lu enjoyed Eighteenth Century reenactments, the Rehoboth, MA, Minutemen, camping, traveling the world, and simply spending time with her husband and family. She held a special place in her heart for her cat, "Smokey", and her late dogs: "Spuds", "Kuddles", and "Shamey", and was very proud of her Irish heritage. The pride and joy of her life was her son, Mark, a Master Chief in the United States Navy who has honorably served our country for more than twenty years. She delighted in visiting him and his wife, Joan, wherever Mark was stationed throughout the world. In addition to her husband, Lloyd, and her son, Mark Raymond Megna and his wife, Joan M. (Vieira) Megna, of Honolulu, HI, she leaves her dearest step-children: April E. Stanley and her husband, Timothy Stanley, of Mount Airy, GA; Tania Tomassi and her husband, Derek Tomassi, of Coventry, RI; and David Eugene Lesperance and his fiancé, Onnie Kapp, of Lebanon, PA. She was the adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty-Lu was the sister of Frederick H. Connelly Jr. and his wife, Dianne Connelly, of Chatham, MA; Robert Connelly of North Attleboro, MA; and the late Raymond F. Connelly.
