Elizabeth J. (Quaglia) Benoit, 87, of North Attleboro, MA, formerly of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021, at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roger A. Benoit, whom she married on May 8, 1954, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro, MA, and who died on May 20, 2001.
Born in Attleboro, MA, on January 8, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Anthony Quaglia Sr. and the late Sola (Rintela) Quaglia. She resided almost her entire life in South Attleboro, MA, and attended and graduated from Attleboro High School. She was a graduate of the former Finan's School of Scientific Beauty Culture in Pawtucket, RI.
A woman of style, grace, and elegance, Mrs. Benoit worked as a hair stylist at Peerless Beauty Salon in Pawtucket, RI, Mr. Arthur's Beauty Salon in Seekonk, MA, Fullera Beauty Salon in South Attleboro, MA, and as a wig stylist at Tiffany Wigs in Pawtucket, RI.
She remained a lifelong communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in South Attleboro.
In earlier years she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and loved to follow and discuss politics.
Mrs. Benoit leaves two children: Susan E. April of Norton, MA; and Stephen R. Benoit and his wife, Cherie, of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren: Eric April, Rebecca Bartle, Rachael Benoit, and Olivia Benoit; seven great grandchildren; her siblings: Gilbert Quaglia in Florida; Kenneth Quaglia of North Attleboro, MA; Stephen Quaglia of South Attleboro, MA; Judith Belanger of Boston, MA; Deborah Quaglia of Wrentham, MA; and Linda Covill of Seekonk, MA; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael Quaglia and Anthony Quaglia, Jr.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Private burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
