Elaine T. (Andrade) Walker, 83, of North Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of William H. Walker, Jr.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on March 11, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Anthony Andrade and the late Sophie (Strzesk) Andrade.
Raised and educated in Pawtucket, RI, she was a graduate of Shea High School and later earned her associate degree in legal secretary studies from the former Bryant and Stratton College in Providence, RI where she was also a member of Phi Upsilon.
She was employed as a legal secretary for many local law firms but she worked for the firm of Sullivan, Taft and McNally in Providence, Rhode Island for almost ten years.
Mrs. Walker had also been employed in an administrative role for both Westcott Construction and DiMeo Construction Management Company and served as a substitute para professional within the North Attleboro School Department.
A talented musician with the voice of an angel, she served as cantor at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark where she was also a member of the church choir.
She and her husband enjoyed time spent in the Recreation Vehicle driving around the country and particularly enjoyed time spent at Graceland, Shenandoah Valley, Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. As “snowbirds” they spent twelve years in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
The Walker family are communicants of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro, MA.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her cherished children: William H. Walker III and his wife, Lisa Walker, of Attleboro, MA and Elena Jones and her husband, Kevin Jones, of Millis, MA; her grandchildren: Jack Walker, Adam Walker, Benjamin Jones and Ryan Jones; her siblings: Richard Robert Andrade of Del Ray, Florida and Claire Lenhart of Rumford, RI and several nieces and nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday December 2, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro, MA.
There will be no funeral cortège from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Funeral Mass.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NICU at Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 in honor of care grandchildren received.
