Eileen T. (Johnson) Gagnon, 89, of Christopher Heights, South Main Street, Attleboro, died on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident since February. She was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Gagnon to whom she was married on May 4, 1946. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on January 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John J. Johnson, Sr. and Alexina (Guillette) Johnson. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and was a 1941 graduate of Attleboro High School. Mrs. Gagnon resided in Attleboro until moving to Plainville where she resided for several years prior to returning to Attleboro in 2011. Mrs. Gagnon was employed as an insurance clerk for many local companies prior to her retirement. A longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro, Mrs. Gagnon attended St. Martha Roman Catholic Church while residing in Plainville. She was an avid reader and ardent walker for many years. In addition to her cherished husband of 67 years, she leaves three children: Christine M. Murphy and her husband, David R. Murphy, of Attleboro Falls; Paula J. Bowler of Mashpee and her husband, Kevin J. Bowler, of Mashpee and Neil R. Gagnon of Eldersburg, Maryland; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the mother of the late Denise E. Bruty who died on January 27, 2008 and was the sister of the late Henry, James E., John J., William E., Alfred, Lawrence A., Richard V. Johnson and Lucille M. Smith and Beatrice C. Mercier. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 9:30 - 10:15 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during the visitation period. At the conclusion of visitation, relatives and friends are cordially invited to join the funeral cortege and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro. Burial will be private in St. Stephens Cemetery, South Main Street, Attleboro. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and reflection at the St. John Hospitality Center located adjacent to St. John the Evangelist Church. The family asks that flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ARC of Bristol County, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703 .
