Eileen Veronica (Donovan) Calamari, 91, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Calamari, Jr., to whom she was married for sixty-two years and who died on May 27, 2013.Born on June 24, 1926 in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late David Donovan and the late Helen (Somenski) Donovan.Eileen graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City, where, as a talented athlete, she had been voted "Athlete of the Year".A resident of Plainville for the past twelve years, she previously lived in Long Island, NY. Eileen was a woman of deep faith and devotion, committed to service to her family, her church, and her community. She was a communicant of St. Martha's Parish in Plainville, MA and a member of the Legion of Mary, the Rosary Society, and the Homemakers Council in New Hyde Park, NY. Eileen had many interests in life, and enjoyed bowling, playing tennis and Mahjong, and was a member of a Canasta club.She leaves her loving and beloved children: Michael J. Calamari III and his wife, Karyne (Lovejoy) Calamari, of East Rockaway, Long Island, NY; Matthew F. Calamari and his wife, Evangeline M. (Rojas) Calamari, of Glen Head, Long Island, NY; and Suzanne (Calamari) Saville and her husband, Thomas B. Saville, of Plainville, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Michael Calamari IV, Lucas Calamari, Chelsea Calamari, Gabriella M. Calamari, Matthew Calamari, Jr., Brendan Saville, and Sean P. Saville. She was predeceased by her siblings: David Donovan, Patricia Donovan, and Theresa Young.
