Eileen Elizabeth Borden

Eileen Elizabeth (Grover) Borden, 84, of Attleboro, MA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was the loving wife of the late Robert S. Borden, to whom she was married for forty-three years before his death in 1999.Born on October 17, 1932 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Luther Grover and the late Maude (Sargent) Grover. A lifelong resident of Attleboro, Eileen was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1950. She received her nursing degree from Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and truly enjoyed her work as a Registered Nurse at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and nursing homes in Attleboro before retiring in 2002. An avid reader and an ardent fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, she enjoyed camping in her younger years. Above all else, Eileen loved spending time with her cherished family, especially her treasured grandchildren, and with her faithful Labrador companion, "Sasha". She is survived by her beloved children: Robert D. Borden; Dianne E. (Borden) Tedesco; and Kathleen A. Borden, all of Attleboro, MA. Eileen was the adoring grandmother of Jennifer Wilson and her husband, Donald Wilson; William R. Ross; Anthony B. Tedesco; and Amy N. Tedesco. She was the sister of Helen Doyle and her husband, Michael Doyle, of Las Vegas, NV; the late Marjorie Ide; and her late sister Doris Mitcham and her late husband, Frank Mitcham. She leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Children's room is available during the visitation and funeral service.Burial will follow the funeral service on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA, at which time Eileen will be laid to rest alongside her late husband.In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be made in Eileen's memory to the Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter, P.O.
