Edwidge Evelyn ?Ed? (Dion) Machado, 90, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro; formerly of Hope Gardens, Park Street, Attleboro; died on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Golden Living Center ? Bristol, formerly Pleasant Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Attleboro as she was surrounded by the love of her dedicated family. She was the wife of the late Arthur Machado who died on July 25, 1989. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on October 15, 1917, she was one of eight children born to the late Edward and Marie (Allard) Dion. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mrs. Machado was a 1935 graduate of Attleboro High School. She remained a lifelong resident of the community with the exception of residing in Fall River and Rumford, Rhode Island for a short time. Mrs. Machado was employed for many years as an assembler at Texas Instruments in Attleboro prior to her retirement in 1972. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro. Among her favorite pastimes were reading and solving crossword puzzles. Her greatest love was the time spent in the company of her beloved family and circle of friends. Mrs. Machado?s sense of humor and witty nature endeared her to all who met her and left a legacy of love to her family. A ?creative writer?, she leaves a collection of work that will be lovingly treasured by her family and will bring a smile to their faces as they read the words she so eloquently spoke through her writings. Her family will be forever grateful to the staff at the Golden Living Center ? Bristol for the care, compassion, friendship and love showed Mrs. Machado during her four-year residency at the facility. She leaves two children: Donna J. Gustafson and her husband, Richard E. Gustafson, of The Villages, Florida; formerly of Norton; and Arthur ?Jeffrey? Machado and his wife, Barbara J. (Babbitt) Machado of Attleboro; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: William Dion, Arthur Dion, Genevieve O?Leary, Rose Johnson, Alice Kenney, Anita Dion and Bella Dupuis. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 9:30 AM in the ?Memorial Chapel? of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
