Edward F. Leedham, Jr., 87, of Seekonk, MA passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of over 65 years of Pauline M. (Bedard) Leedham.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on January 11, 1935, he was a son of the late Edward F. Leedham, Sr. and the late Honora (Bourque) Leedham.
He was the adored father of Debbie Gendreau and her husband, Bobby, with whom the Leedham's resided, of Seekonk, MA and who provided him with excellent caregiving. He was the grandfather of Kerri Gendreau, David Gendreau and the late Kristin Gendreau and was the great grandfather of Colyn, Jaylee, Shea-Lynn, Matthew, Calie, July and the late Michael Robert and Savannah. He was the great great grandfather of Cecylia; brother of Theresa Paquette and he also leaves several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs: Molly, Mya and Baxter.
Other than his cherished family, his proudest accomplishment was his service in the United States Army during the Korean War era and achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major prior to his retirement following 26 years of distinguished service.
Mr. Leedham also served as a police officer for the Town of Seekonk for 14 years and had worked for Texas Instruments in Attleboro, Victoria Creations in Warwick, RI and Home Depot in South Attleboro.
He loved to travel, play golf, and treasured spending time with his family. In later years, he loved to sit in the yard and watch the birds, animals and flowers and then take his walker and sit at the end of the driveway and wave and talk to people. He brought back "the neighbor" to the "neighborhood". He also enjoyed watching his son-in-law, Bobby, do yard work and even his daughter, Debbie, crochet.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
A private service with military honors will be held at a later date.
