Edward Roger Lacasse

Edward Roger Lacasse, 77, of Long Lane, North Attleboro, died on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Facility in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Sandra J. (Broman) Lacasse to whom he was married on August 25, 1956. Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts at the family home on April 10, 1936, he was a son of the late Alfred and Cherie (Sarazin) Lacasse. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro where he was a 1955 graduate of North Attleboro High School. He remained a lifelong resident of his native community but also enjoyed time spent at the family summer residence on West Island in Fairhaven where he loved to fish and go clamming. He and his wife had also enjoyed time in Florida during the cold Northeast winters. Mr. Lacasse was a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He was employed as a machinist at Crosby-Ashton and Plainville Machine Company prior to becoming the founder, owner and operator of Lacasse Welding, Inc. which he operated for 45 years prior to his retirement. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, North Attleboro. Mr. Lacasse was a former member of the Benevcolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014 in Attleboro. He loved to travel and along with his wife visited countries around the world. In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves three children: Bryan E. Lacasse and his wife, Beverly Lacasse, of Palmer, Alaska; Kevin A. Lacasse of North Attleboro and Sharyn A. Coville and her husband, Charlie Coville, of Brownfield, Maine; three loving grandchildren: Justin Lacasse of North Attleboro; Ryan Coville of Brownfield, Maine and Cory Coville of Brownfield, Maine; two sisters: Lena McDonald of Seekonk and Cherie Pelissier of Swansea and several extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Following funeral services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
