Edward Joseph Howe

Edward Joseph Howe, 74, of Dean Street, Norton, a retired meat cutter for the former Almacs Supermarket, died on Monday, July 25, 2011 at his residence surrounded by the care and comfort of his family. He was the husband of Carol M. (Perry) Howe. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on March 29, 1937, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary (McGill) Howe. He was raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Mr. Howe resided in Norton for the past 37 years having moved there from neighboring Attleboro. He was employed as a meat cutter for the former Almacs Supermarket at various locations for several years until an injury ended his career in 1974. While employed, Mr. Howe was a steward of the Teamsters Union. He attended St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Norton. Camping and vacationing in Aruba were among his favorite pastimes; however, spending time with his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren around the pool at his residence was the most rewarding. Mr. Howe enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Resort and Casino. In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters: Patricia Bramwell and her husband, Gregg Bramwell, of Norton; Donna Farias and her husband, Frank Farias, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Carla Vierkant and her husband, Frank Vierkant, of Attleboro and Michelle Douglass and her husband, Edward Douglass, of Norton; ten grandchildren: Becky Beaton, Brent and Brian Bramwell, Derrick and Matthew Cabral, Andrea Furtado, Melissa and Edward Vierkant and Rachel and Ashley Douglass; seven great grandchildren; a brother: Donald Howe and his wife, Claire Howe, of Pascoag, Rhode Island; two sisters: Jane Durand and her husband, Robert Durand, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Cheryl Chandonnait and her husband, Richard Chandonnait, of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 9:00 10:45 AM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, July 30, 2011 immediately at the conclusion of visitation at 11:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Brother Robert Russell of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Pawtucket. Childrens room available during visitation and the funeral service. Please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America or the Celiac Disease Foundation.
