Edward Philip Hebert

Edward Philip Bill Hebert, 83, of Magnolia Hill Drive, Plant City, Florida; formerly of East Street, North Attleboro, died on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Florida. He was the husband of Noella H. Lou Hebert to whom he was married on November 29, 1952. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on June 8, 1928, he was a son of the late Alexander and Irene (Robitaille) Hebert Gaumond. He resided in North Attleboro from 1958 until January 1989 when he moved to Plant City, Florida. Mr. Hebert was a proud veteran having served in both the United States Navy and Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II having served from 1945 -1949 and with the Navy and from 1950 1953 with the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed as a documentation coordinator for the former Foxboro Company for 18 years prior to his retirement in 1985. While residing in North Attleboro, Mr. Hebert was a communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and since relocating to Florida attended the St. Clement Roman Catholic Church in Plant City. He enjoyed repairing home computers and the time spent as a ham radio operator. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he leaves five children: Steven E. Hebert of North Attleboro; Suzanne E. Cash of Rehoboth; Patricia A. Hebert of North Attleboro; Carl J. Hebert of North Attleboro and Randy J. Hebert of Attleboro; nine grandchildren: Matthew L. Shumila of North Attleboro; Kara N. Shumila of Boston; Steven A. Hebert of North Attleboro; Gregory P. Hebert of North Attleboro; Kaitlyn E. Hebert of Boston; Madison E. Hebert of North Attleboro; Carl J. Hebert of North Attleboro; Lindsey A. Cash of Rehoboth and Daniel A. Cash of Rehoboth and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Albert R. Hebert. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 7:45 AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Towne Street, North Attleboro. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Heberts name to St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, 1104 North Alexander Street, Plant City, Florida 33563.
