Edward Michael Drapeau, 46, of Stoddard Drive, North Attleboro, died of cancer on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island following an illness first diagnosed in November 2009. He was the beloved husband and my world of Kathleen A. (Kennedy) Drapeau to whom he was married on October 15, 1994. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 12, 1964, he was raised and educated in East Providence where he graduated from East Providence High School. Mr. Drapeau later graduated from Bryant College. He resided in East Providence until moving to Attleboro in 1992 and to North Attleboro in 1993. He was employed as a mortgage processor at Prospect Mortgage in Newton since January 2009 and was previously employed as a team lead underwriter for Option One Mortgage in Foxboro. Mr. Drapeau, along with his family, was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. His life was devoted and dedicated to his cherished family and he treasured every moment creating lifelong memories. Among his favorite pastimes were exploring the wilderness of New Hampshires White Mountains and enjoying a generational family tradition of time spent at New Hampshire beaches. He enjoyed playing paintball and was an avid fan of all the New England sports teams. In addition to his wife of 16 years, he leaves five children: Zachary S.; Danielle N.; Ethan E.; Eric M. and Hailey R. all of North Attleboro; a granddaughter: Wendy L. of North Attleboro; his parents: William L. and Elaine (Spinella) Drapeau of East Providence, Rhode Island; two sisters: Deborah Anania and her husband, David Anania, of East Providence, Rhode Island and Donna Drapeau of East Providence, Rhode Island; a niece, several nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a group of tremendously supportive friends. He was the brother of the late Diane Drapeau. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Marks Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, turn right onto Stanley Street in mile and travel to end of Stanley Street), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, principal celebrant. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of church services. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Please do not send flowers.
