Edith Ruth (Hampson) Kane, 95, of Walnut Street, Plainville, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Paul Albert Kane, Sr., who died in 1996. Born in Cumberland,Rhode Island on June 12, 1918; she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Netti Hampson. She was employed as a maintenance worker at Adam Plug in South Attleboro for two years and Sadler Brothers, Inc. in South Attleboro for over forty years prior to her retirement. Mrs. Kane loved her yard work and her Ham and Bean suppers. She was a member of the Mr. and Mrs. Club and the Ladies Auxilary and she attended Bethany Village Congregational Church in South Attleboro. Mrs. Kane leaves a daughter: Karen Kane Rathbun of Plainville; a daughter-in-law: Linda Kane of Florida; two grandchildren: Randy Kane and Kyle Kane; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul A. Kane, Jr. and four sisters and one brother. A private burial will be held at a later date.
