Douglas Paul Lawrence

Douglas Paul Lawrence, 79, of Attleboro, MA passed away on January 25, 2024, at the Boston Medical Center is Boston, MA after having been surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Anita L. (Getchell) Lawrence to whom he was married on May 19, 1961.
Born in Bangor, Maine  on April 18, 1944, he was a son of the late John D. Lawrence and the late Eva (Ballard) Lawrence.  He was raised and educated in the State of Maine.
As a truck driver in the transportation industry, he was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters - Local 653.
His favorite pastimes including creating lifelong memories with his family and camping around New England, with a favorite spot being the Cape Cod Maple Park Campground and RV Park.  He was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children:  Jesse D. Lawrence and his wife, Joanne Lawrence of Richmond, Virginia;Annette M. Buebendorf and her husband, William Buebendorf, of Taunton, MA and Steven D. Lawrence and his wife, Brenda Lawrence, of  Norton, MA; 8 grandchildren; 7  great grandchildren; a sister: Melanie Emerson in Maine; and several extended family member  including nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Maynard Ballard, Norma Robertson, Shirley Lawrence, Donald Lawrence, Joseph Lawrence, "Smokey" Lawrence. Kenneth White, Gerald Lawrence, Marjorie Clark and Mary Ellen Baldwin.
He was the son-in-law of the late Floyd Getchell and the late June Mann and was the brother-in-law of Everett and Judy Getchell, Barbara and Larrie Hawkes, Shirley and Mike Savoie, Robin and Anthony Almeida, Melvin and Marilyn Getchell, Stella and Gene Sylvester, Lorrie Getchell and Paula and Wayne Giro.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Funeral Service will be held in the "Memorial Chapel" on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 am.  All are welcome to attend.
Burial will be private.
Please omit flowers.  Memorial donations in memory of Doug and in his honor may be made to the Teamsters Joint Council 10 Scholarship Fund, 544 Main Street, Boston, MA 02129.
