Douglas "Doug" Jay Rapp, 58, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Born on March 28, 1963, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Dennis Earl Rapp and the late Dorothy Helen (MacLeod) McNamara.
Raised and educated in Norton, MA, Doug graduated from Norton High School, Class of 1981, and was a certified arborist through Jackson Nursery in Norton, MA. He was the co-owner of RC Construction and Landscaping, working as a self-employed contractor, machine operator, and landscaper for many years.
As a resident of North Attleboro for many years, he was an avid sports fan of the New England and Boston teams. He had a love for older automobiles and enjoyed working on anything automotive in nature, particularly his 1968 Chevy Camaro. He was a skilled carpenter and landscaper who genuinely enjoyed the outdoors. Doug would often listen to classic rock music, like Led Zeppelin and Bad Company. He collected almost anything he could get a hold of that was Tigger-related. He told many stories about his late cat, always holding a special place in his heart for "Wild Thing." More than anything, though, Doug treasured spending time with friends and family.
Doug is survived by his former wife, Sheryl L. (Blye) LaFrance, and their children, Elizabeth C. (Rapp) Bueno, Samuel D. Rapp, and Andrew L. Rapp, and his grandchildren Lucas W. Rapp, Skye A. Ribeiro, Katara B. Bueno, and Asami B. Bueno. He is also survived by his brother Daniel W. Rapp of Shrewsbury, MA. He leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Memorial and Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
