Dorothy A. Zani

Dorothy A. (Menezes) Zani, 90, of Norton, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Wingate at Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick C. Zani.Born on July 6, 1927 in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Manuel J. and Maria (Santos) Menezes. Raised and educated in Arlington, MA, where she graduated from Arlington High School, Class of 1945, she previously lived in Attleboro, Plainville, and North Attleboro, MA. Dorothy received her Bachelor of Science Degree and Master's Degree from Boston University. She was a dedicated Teacher and Educator, working as a Physical Education Teacher in North Kingstown, RI, Stamford, CT, and Beverly, MA.An ardent reader, she loved to play Scrabble. She was a woman of great faith who, more than anything, loved spending time with her family and being with her church family at the Assembly of God in South Attleboro. Dorothy was the loving mother of Gregory R. Zani of Attleboro, MA, and Elizabeth R. (Zani) Walsh of Lehigh Acres, FL. She was the adoring grandmother of Joshua Walsh and Nicholas Walsh, and the proud great-grandmother of Shawn Walsh and Landon Walsh. She was the dear sister of Ethel Doyle of Tewksbury, MA. Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings: Alfred Menezes, Theresa Kirkpatrick, Hilda Boyle, Manuel Menezes, Mary Menezes, Alice Menezes, and Ruth Simonds, and leaves many nieces and nephews.
