Dorothy "Dot" Helen (Curran) Lawrence, 91, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of Ernest A. Lawrence, Jr., to whom she was married on February 22, 1973, and with whom she recently celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary.Born on November 9, 1926 in Quincy, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward E. and Helen (Hennessey) Curran.A resident of Attleboro since 1975, Dot previously lived in Brockton, MA. She worked for several years as an Assembler for the Raytheon Company in Quincy, MA, before retiring, and was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro.A warm and caring woman who always seemed to have a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, more than anything in life, Dot loved simply being with her family. She was an avid reader who delighted in dancing. When she was younger, she participated in roller skating competitions with her sister. Dot enjoyed all things Irish, and loved to travel the world, having taken nineteen cruise ship vacations. She had a special place in her heart for her late cat, "Sassy" and her late dog, "Beamer".In addition to her husband, Ernest, she leaves her much loved children: Janis H. DeValles of Fairhaven, MA; William E. Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda Fitzgerald, of Marston Mills, MA; Patrick T. Fitzgerald of Attleboro, MA; Theresa M. Lawrence of North Providence, RI; Linda M. Doiron and her husband, Joseph R. Doiron, of Southbridge, MA; Kathleen P. Natareno and her husband, Jose Natareno, of Cranston, RI; Sandra A. Applegate of North Providence, RI; Cheryl A. Al-Sasah and her husband, Bilal Al-Sasah, of North Providence, RI; and John W. Lawrence of Pawtucket, RI. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of twenty-four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Beverly Pitts and the late Phillip Curran. She leaves her niece, Laurie Elliott and her nephew, Phillip Pitts, Jr. Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dot by gathering for a Visitation on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A private Prayer Service will be held for Dot's family immediately prior to the visitation. Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Dot to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
