Dorothy A. Hagerty

Dorothy Anita (Fallows) Hagerty, 91, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Francis Hagerty, Jr., who died on August 12, 2006.Born on January 20, 1927 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. Fallows and the late Ida D. (Mercier) Fallows.A resident of North Attleboro since 1975, she previously lived in Mansfield, MA, and worked for twenty years as a Precious Metal Inspector for Engelhard Industries in Plainville, MA, before retiring.A woman of great faith and devotion, Dorothy was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro, and St. Mark's Parish in North Attleboro. She loved walking at the mall with Elaine, her dearest friend and sister; dancing with her husband; watching movies on the Lifetime channel; reading, doing word search games, walking the beach on Cape Cod and in Maine, going out for ice cream , spending mornings with her friends at the mall. More than anything, Dorothy loved spending time with her family, and had a special place in her heart for the family dog, "Miya".Dorothy was the loving and much loved mother of Joyce A. Rose and her husband, William Rose, of Jaffrey, NH; Wayne R. Hagerty of Norton, MA; Carol D. Kelley and her husband, John Kelley, of Mashpee, MA; and Roy F. Hagerty, III and his wife, Karen A. (Contois) Hagerty, of North Attleboro, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Dorothy was the cherished sister of Elaine Valade of Attleboro, MA, and her late husband, Oscar Valade. She leaves several nieces and nephews and dear friends.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Dorothy by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.A Graveside Service will follow on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, at which time Dorothy will be laid to rest alongside her dear late husband, Roy.
