Dorothy M. Gaskill

Dorothy M. (Grant) Gaskill, 89, affectionately known as "Dot", of West Wareham, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion, MA from complications of Covid-19.  She was the wife of the late Richard Irving Gaskill to whom she was married on February 13, 1956 and who entered into rest on October 25, 2003.
Born in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA on August 8, 1931, she was the only child of the late Paul J. Grant and the late Dorothea (Kimball) Grant.  She was raised and educated in Dorchester.
Mrs. Gaskill was employed as an accounts receivable clerk for Republic Plumbing Supply Company in Norwood for more than 30 years having lastly worked part-time until the age of 88.
A resident of West Wareham for more than 20 years, she previously resided in Buzzards Bay.  She and her husband raised their family in Stoughton.
She will be lovingly remembered for her spunk and tenacity.  Dot left a legacy as an amazingly strong woman who was independent, caring, giving and an inspiration to many.  She had a love for her feline companion.
She leaves her daughter: Susan J. Farquharson and her husband, Robert Farquharson, of Norton, MA; a son: David P. Gaskill of West Wareham, MA; a daughter-in-law: Brenda (Voudren) Gaskill of Bourne, MA; five grandchildren: Marissa McCabe of Attleboro, MA, Danielle Mallard of Wareham, MA, Lindsay Franklin of Bellingham, MA, Christopher MacNeil of Marshfield Hills, MA and Michael Voudren of Plymouth, MA; a great granddaughter: Everly Mallard of Wareham, MA and friends to mourn her passing.  She was the beloved mother of the late Douglas K. Gaskill and Paul R. Gaskill.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited attend a Memorial Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Also with strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Her Life in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home on SUNDAY, MARCH 28, 2021 at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dot's name may be made to the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary, 37 Eddy St, Norton, MA 02766 or to the Fidelis Hospice, 25 Railroad Square, Haverhill, MA 01832.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Sippican Healthcare Center employees and, in particular, to Sumaya, whom Dot lovingly called "Giggles", for being there until the very end and easing Dot's transition.
