Dorothy A. Conlon

Dorothy Alice (Lowe) Garlick Conlon, 98, of Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Garden Place Health Care in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late William Joseph Garlick Jr. who died in 1973, and the late George Conlon who died in 1986.Born on November 22, 1919 in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late William Lowe and the late Florence Mabel (Parker) Lowe.Raised and educated in Pawtucket where she lived in the same house since 1929, Dorothy received her Bachelor's Degree in History from Rhode Island College at the age of seventy-eight. She had been employed as a Bookkeeper for various manufacturing businesses in the area until retiring.A woman of faith, Dorothy was a member of The Church of the Redeemer in Providence, and active with the Pawtucket Women's Club. She was the loving mother of Kathleen D. Palmer of Long Beach, CA; Robert M. Garlick of Prudence Island, RI; Kenneth W. Garlick of North Attleboro, MA; Rosemary L. Blake of Powder Springs, GA; William J. Garrick of Long Beach, CA; and the late Billy J. Garlick, who died in infancy. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by one grandchild. Dorothy was the dear sister of Irene Fisher of Franklin, MA, and was predeceased by her siblings, the late Marjorie Nuttall, the late Barbara Morrison, and the late Frederick Lowe.
