Dorothy Frances Bergevine

Dorothy Frances (Kinney) Bergevine, 87, of Attleboro, formerly of Christopher Heights, Attleboro and Sandcastle Estates, South Attleboro; died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Golden Living Center - Garden Place in Attleboro following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Bergevine who died on December 15, 2000. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on September 5, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Basil E. and Marion F. (Pike) Kinney. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and remained a lifelong resident of her native community. Mrs. Bergevine was employed as an assembler for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for many years prior to her retirement. A lifelong member of Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, Mrs. Bergevine was a member of the Service Circle at the church. Her favorite pastimes included solving word search puzzles, camping, shopping playing bingo and traveling. However, her truest satisfaction and happiness came from the time spent with her cherished family, in particular her grandchildren, creating lifelong memories. She leaves three children: Suzanne J. Bergevine of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Alan R. Bergevine of Attleboro and Jill M. Belanger and her husband, Donald E. Belanger, of South Attleboro; four grandchildren: Eric R. Bergevine of North Attleboro; Holly J. Belanger of Cumberland, Rhode Island; Adam E. Belanger of South Attleboro and Nathan C. Belanger of South Attleboro; two great grandchildren: Alexis R. Belanger and Cameron P. Belanger both of Cumberland, Rhode Island; two sisters: Joan Zarek of Mansfield and Louise Hamilton of Attleboro and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was the sister of the late James Kinney, Marjorie Honeycutt and Alice Horton. Family and Friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Tremont and Park Streets - Route 118, Rehoboth with Rev. F. Vernon Wright, Pastor of Second Congregational Church, Park Street, Attleboro, officiating. Christian burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Bergevine's name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
