Doris Theresa (Ferland) Robitaille, 78, of Sunset Acres, Washington Street, Plainville, died unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was the beloved wife of J. Wilfred E. Robitaille to whom she was married on August 7, 1954. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on June 30, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Plante) Ferland. She was raised and educated in Attleboro where she was a 1953 graduate of Attleboro High School. Mrs. Robitaille was employed as an expediter for the former Plainville Stock Company for 33 years prior to her retirement. A resident of Plainville for the past 12 years, Mrs. Robitaille resided in North Attleboro from 1980 - 2001 having lived in Plainville previously. A great knitter, she enjoyed making sweaters for family and friends. Both she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in the recreational vehicle while enjoying dirt track races. Her family was always her focal point and she treasured the times spent attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events throughout the years. Mrs. Robitaille was a dedicated sports enthusiast. In addition to her husband of 58 years, she leaves three children: Michael D. Robitaille of Cherryfield, Maine; Joanne M. Robinson of Wrentham and Maurice A. Robitaille of North Attleboro; six grandchildren; one, soon to be three, great grandchildren; a sister: Elaine LaChance of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; a brother: Kenneth Ferland of Ossipee, New Hampshire and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister of the late Jacqueline Barrows, Simone Perry and David Ferland. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
