Doris Claire Metivier

Doris Claire (Noiseux) Metivier, 82, of Cumberland, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Theodore Metivier, who died on January 18, 2007.Born on January 10, 1934 in Lincoln, RI, she was the daughter of the late Albert Noiseux and the late Eva (Nault) Noiseux.A longtime resident of Lincoln and Cumberland, RI, Doris excelled as a homemaker and housekeeper. She was an active member of St. Joan's Church in Cumberland, RI. Doris enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and being with family.She is survived by her dear children: Linda D. (Metivier) Miller and her husband, Stephen J. Miller, of Cumberland, RI; and Donald Metivier of Warwick, RI; her sisters: Anita (Noiseux) Caya, of Manville, RI; and Lorraine (Noiseux) Bourdeau of Seekonk, MA; three treasured grandchildren and three special great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.Doris was the mother of the late Paul E. Metivier.Visitation has respectfully been omitted.Burial services will be privately held in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
