Donat "Don" Arzarie Heon, III, 72, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Deborah A. (Earle) Heon, to whom he was married on April 20, 1968 in Wrentham, MA.Born on February 20, 1945 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Donat Arzarie Heon, Jr., and Rosalie V. (Pharmakis) Heon.He was a graduate of King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, MA, Class of 1963, where he was at the top of his class in vocational arts (carpentry), and then proudly and honorably served in the National Guard from 1963 until 1969. Don had strong mechanical abilities, and enjoyed working as a Carpenter, as a Certified Well Driller, and as a Security Patrol Supervisor for Gray's Security Corporation in Attleboro, MA, before retiring in 2009. A resident of North Attleboro for more than forty-five years, he previously lived in Wrentham, MA. Don loved all things having to do with cars, particularly Corvettes, as well as rebuilding cars and working on model cars. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, computer games, and collecting state coins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children: Julie C. (Heon) Cotoia and her husband, Vincent Cotoia; and Jeffrey M. Heon and his wife, Karen B. (Olihovik) Heon; all of North Providence, RI. He was the adoring grandfather of fourteen year-old twins, Vincent A. Cotoia and Jeffrey N. Cotoia; and Brayden J. Heon, thirteen, and Makenna R. Heon, nine years old. Don was the brother of Cheryle G. (Heon) Switzer and her husband, Curtis Switzer of The Colony, TX; and Joyce (Heon) Moulding and her husband, Frederick J. Moulding, of Winterhaven, FL. He leaves several cousins, including his dear cousin Eugene "Gene" Heon, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn Heon, of Scituate, RI; his nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Children's room is available during the visitation.Those in need of a local ride to the visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.
