Donalda E. Plante

Donalda E. Dot (Magnan) Plante, 89, of James Street, North Attleboro, died on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro where she had been a resident since January. She was the wife of the late Charles Henry Plante who died on May 16, 2002. Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on January 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Donalda (Marois) Magnan. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro where she remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Plante was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. She had been employed as a shipper and packer for several local companies including Plainville Stock Company, V. H. Blackinton and Donnelly Manufacturing prior to her retirement. Mrs. Plante was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart Church, North Attleboro. For more than 20 years, she was a volunteer at the North Attleboro Senior Center and was a longtime member of the board of directors of the Friends of the North Attleboro Council on Aging. She was a member of the Attleboro Moose Club and will be lovingly remembered as an ardent reader and avid crossword puzzle solver. Mrs. Plante leaves three children: Wilbred Bill Plante of North Attleboro; Louise R. (Plante) St. George of Oahu, Hawaii and Janet C. (Plante) Johnson of North Attleboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late David E. Plante and was predeceased by all of her siblings. Private visitation will be held in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Private funeral services will be held in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Victor Chaupetta, M.S. of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
