Donald "Don" Robert Shevory, 65, of James Street, Attleboro, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Judith Ellen (Strang) Shevory, to whom he was married on June 10, 1988. Born on March 2, 1950 in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Francis Shevory and Pearl Mae (Towner) Shevory. Don was a longtime resident of Attleboro, having previously lived in North Attleboro. He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army, and retired in 2002 after working for many years as a self-employed Painter. Don enjoyed staying abreast of the news, particularly through watching CNN and Fox News. He enjoyed the simple things in life, including the companionship of "Spaz", his cat. Most of all, Don valued time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Judith, Don is survived by four step-children: Douglas Dennis Moreau, Jr., and his wife, Laura Moreau, of North Carolina; Carla M. Kell, and her husband, Brian Kell, of Rhode Island; Laura Jo Amaral and her husband, Arthur Amaral, of Taunton, MA; and Crystal B. Oliveira and her husband, Paul Oliveira, of Lakeville, MA. He was the brother of Paul McKenzie of Taunton, MA; Florence (Shevory) Goulette of Attleboro, MA; Louise (Shevory) McLellen of California; and Judith Shevory of Middleboro, MA. Don was the loving grandfather of thirteen grandchildren: Courtney, Amanda, Ashley, Sydney Rose, Scott, Justin, Taylor, Nicolle, Nicholas, Nathan, Paul Jones, Natasha, and Jacob; and the great-grandfather of twelve great-grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joyce (Shevory) Albee, Frances (Shevory) Brown, and Patricia (Shevory) Livsley. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, ¾ mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
