Donald R. Shaw, 53 Donald R. Shaw, 53, of Peck Street, Attleboro, died on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Golden Living Center ? Attleboro. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on September 18, 1957, he was a son of the late Donald Shaw and Mary Hannah (Green) Jacob and stepson of Edward H. Jacob of Attleboro. Mr. Shaw was employed as a maintenance laborer for various companies for several years. He attended the Brockton Adult Day Center and was a former attendee and volunteer at the Corner Club Program in Attleboro. Prior to moving to Attleboro in November, Mr. Shaw was a resident of North Attleboro for 15 years having moved to that community from Attleboro where he had been a longtime resident. In earlier years, he was a communicant of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro. His favorite pastimes included eating and socializing with family and friends. In addition to his stepfather, he leaves two sisters: Jacqueline M. Gormley of Attleboro and Desiree S. Gentle of Orlando, Florida; many friends and devoted caregivers at Golden Living Center ? Attleboro, the Ascera Hospice program and the counselors at the Recovery Partnership Program. He was the longtime companion of the late Helen Ferris. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the summer. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
