Donald O. Ouellette

August 31, 1946 — January 26, 2021

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Donald O. Ouellette of North Attleboro, formerly of Attleboro, went home to be with the Lord after battling a long illness with strength and courage, at the age of 74. He was a son of the late Ovila Ouellette and the late Laurette Ouellette. Mr. Ouellette was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School.
Don was a caring and creative person who would always be available to use his talents to help someone in need regardless of the amount of time or energy it would take. He enjoyed cooking as well as brewing his own beer and experimenting with unusual flavor combinations - always a delight to those with whom he shared a new brew. His passion for the outdoors ranged from the thrill of climbing Mount Washington to quietly kayaking down the Bungay River. Auto shows, wine tastings, antiquing and traveling brought experiences, new friends, laughter and memories to those he shared that time with.
He also had a long-time interest in conservation efforts which drew him to organizations that supported that cause. He was a Life Member and Major Donor of Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and  he served as an Area Chairman, District Chairman, and Co-Chairperson of the Massachusetts Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. He also served the Attleboro Land Trust as a Life Member, Major Donor, Vice-President of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Property Acquisition Committee. He was particularly proud to be a part of the development of the project "Hike Attleboro". The land Don helped to preserve will be here for others to enjoy for generations to come.
As a successful entrepreneur he founded, owned and operated Ouellette Industries, Inc. in Attleboro Falls for 30 years, until his retirement in 2011. Prior to Ouellette Industries, he founded Deanville Landscaping and started Flowers by Deanville with his cousin. He also was a member of the former North Attleboro-Plainville Chamber of Commerce.
Don is survived and will be dearly missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Laura, children Holly and Brent, as well as four grandchildren, all of whom he loved spending time with. He also leaves his sisters Linda, Susan and Elaine, and his brother, Paul. In addition, he leaves nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. Everyone who knew Don will undoubtedly remember his generosity, smile, sense of humor and laughter.
At his request, funeral services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions in memory of Don Ouellette be made to the Brain Support Network, P.O. Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026, www.brainsupportnetwork.org .
