Donald L. Nichols

Donald Lawrence Nichols, 77, of Cranston, Rhode Island went to his eternal reward on November 9, 2024. Born on April 27, 1947, in Saranac Lake, New York. Donald loved reading, photography, and his Ham Radio Club in East Providence on Friday nights. He also loved hiking the White Mountains in New Hampshire. He was able to accomplish his goal of climbing all 48 – 4,000 foot peaks.

Donald graduated from Corning – Painted Post West High School in 1966. After High School Donald attended Zion Bible Institute, East Providence, Rhode Island, class of 1969. Soon afterward He was drafted in the Army, serving in Vietnam with an honorable discharge.

Donald is predeceased by his father and mother, Lawrence and Irene Nichols, Elmira, New York. His foster parents, Alice Parker and her daughter Martha and Richard Montgomery, all from Catlin, New York. His brothers, Dale Nichols, Erin, New York and Stevie Nichols, Catlin, New York. His nephew, Timothy Nichols, Erin, New York. Donald is survived by his brother, David Nichols, North Attleboro, Ma. His nieces and nephews, Rebekah and Adrian Baleanu, Attleboro, Massachusetts. Karen Nichols and her fiancé David Cerne, of Ipswich, Massachusetts. Denise and Amadou Kaba, and their children Malik, Layla, and Aamira, Attleboro, Massachusetts. Thomas and Megan Nichols, Chrisfield, Maryland. Stephen Nichols and his Mom Linda Nichols, Erin, New York.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2024, any time from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 p.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

His burial with Military Honors will be at the RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
