Donald T. Messere, age 71, longtime resident of South Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of family, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the caring and devoted husband to Kathleen (Duross) Messere, whom he wed on July 2, 1989.
Born on January 15, 1954, in Boston, Don was one of three children born to the late Thomas F. and Theresa F. (Federico) Messere. He was raised and grew up in Stoughton. Don was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, majoring in woodworking.
A man with a great work ethic, Don spent many years working as a machinist at Paquette Tool and Machine, in Avon, where he took immense pride in his meticulous attention to detail. Prior to his time as a machinist, he applied his woodworking talents building cabinets at Woodhue Kitchen. As a second job, Don, along with his partner, were the owner and operator of Music Fusion, where they enjoyed sharing their love of music as a DJ, bringing joy to many through lively sets.
Outside of work, Don was a man of many talents and interests. He had a knack for fixing and building anything, and he shared a deep love for cars. As an enthusiastic fan, he rarely missed a game of his beloved New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. Above all, he cherished the time spent and memories made with his family, especially his little buddy Pax and new granddaughter Lyla.
In addition to his beloved wife, Kathy Don is survived by his proud and cherished three daughters: Melissa Messere and her fiancé John Dinozzi of Billerica, Nicole Cutler and her husband Dan of Brighton, and Dani Messere of Attleboro; his two grandchildren: Paxton Messere of Attleboro and Lyla Dinozzi of Billerica; his brother: Thomas Messere and his wife Nancy of Taunton; his mother-in-law: Audrey Duross of Stoughton; and nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in passing, by his late brother, Kenneth Messere.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on SUNDAY, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Don’s Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul, will be celebrated on MONDAY, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 18 Baltic Street, Attleboro, MA. There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Funeral Mass, please go directly to church.
