Donald K. Haskel “Don”, 81 of Attleboro, MA., passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Ann C. Broden-Haskel (Corner). They were happily married for 38 years.
Born on January 22, 1943, in Claremont, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Robert and Doris (Pike) Haskel.
Don obtained a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. Before his retirement, he oversaw darkroom processing at his family's enterprise, Crocker Graphics, situated in Needham, MA. He served as a Deacon and was a member of the choir at the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. In addition, he was an engaged participant in the Providence Northern Railroad Club and Old Warwick Grange #41. He also had a tenure in the Army National Guard. A passionate train enthusiast, Don was a published photographer and established a business named “The Armchair Railfan,” which involved selling videotapes featuring trains captured from various locations across the United States.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving stepchildren, David J. Broden of Framingham, MA., and Kristin E. Conroy and her husband Brian of Whitinsville, MA., and his cherished grandchildren, Colin and Samantha Brody and Megan and Molly Conroy. He is also survived by his nephews, Arthur Crocker and William Crocker and his wife Julie, a niece, Debra Buta and her husband Ron and several grandnieces. He was the brother of the late Roberta Crocker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
His burial will be private.
