Donald Michel Doucette

Donald Michel Doucette, 81, of Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Born on December 20, 1943, he was the son of the late Armand and the late Marie B. (Pelletier) Doucette.

A lifelong resident of Attleboro and a 1962 graduate of Attleboro High School, he earned his associate's degree in liberal arts at the Fall River campus of Bristol Community College.

He was employed through the years at Bobby's Ice Cream Shop, Willow Tree Poultry Farm, DeBlois Oil Company, Town and Country Transportation, L.G. Balfour Company, Leach & Garner and the Taunton Auto Auction.

Donald was much loved and will be remembered for his leadership and civic roles in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They include that of the Founding Chairperson of ALF's Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, American Lighthouse Foundation Board of Directors, Ten Mile River Watershed Alliance now known as The Friends of the Ten Mile River Watershed, Attleboro Boy Scout Troop #25, Assembly of God Royal Rangers scout troop, presentations and lectures in association with the Attleboro Historical Society, member of the Republican Committee of Attleboro and the Archeological Society of Rehoboth.

Along with his wife, Nancy, they toured every town and city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and documented each city or town hall with picture albums. He was also a frequent contributor to the Backyard Rambles section of the Sun Chronicle.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Christine (LeGrand) Doucette; his son: Donald Jeffrey Doucette; a daughter: Amy Christine Doucette; two grandsons: Connor Barlow and Cayden Barlow; his brother: Paul M. Doucette (Jean Bozzo); his sisters: Noela G. Pino (the late Samuel Pino) and Danielle "Dani" Medeiros and his sister-in-law: Laurie Lee (Perrault) Bisio. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Doanld was predeceased by his siblings: Joanne M. Doucette, Rose Marie Dion (Robert Dion); Mary Ann Goulet (Robert Goulet) and Eugene A. Doucette (Dixie Jean "West" Doucette); brothers-in-law: Stanley Medeiros and Ernest LeGrand; mother-in-law: Alice Hogberg Perrault; father-in-law: Mac Perrault.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any of the following organizations: Friends of the Ten Mile River Watershed, Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, the American Lighthouse Foundation, Hope Health Hospice, Grace Community Chapel (Seekonk, MA) or the Massachusetts Archeological Society (Middleboro, MA).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home,161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. MA immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".

Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street, Attleboro, MA.
