Dolores Blanche (Chamberlain) LaRochelle, 100, of South Attleboro, MA passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro following a brief illness, She was the wife of the late Paul D. LaRochelle to whom she was married on March 11, 1944 and who entered eternal rest on December 24, 2002.
Born in Bellingham, MA on December 1, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Ephrem and Aurore (Bergeron) Chamberlain - immigrants from Canada. She resided in South Attleboro since 2000 and previously resided in Plainville and North Attleboro.
One of her proudest moments was receiving her G.E.D. at the age of 54.
Mrs. LaRochelle was employed as a bookkeeper for her husband's business, P. D. LaRochelle Builders, in North Attleboro for more than 30 years prior to her retirement.
A woman of elegance, grace and strong faith, she was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro.
She served as the Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary of the D.A.V. - Post #56 in North Attleboro; was an honorary member of the Kappa Sigma Society in Plainville ; a member of the St. Theresa's Women's Guild and a member of the St. Ann Solidarity at Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro.
Mrs. LaRochelle will be lovingly remembered for cake decorating for birthdays and weddings. her love for sewing, quilting and crocheting but most importantly for the time spent in the company of her large family creating lifelong memories.
She was the adoring mother of five sons: Edward P. LaRochelle and his wife, Andrea, of Windsor, CA;Louie J. LaRochelle and his wife, Muriel, of Ossipee, NH; David E. LaRochelle and his wife, Lynne of Plainville, MA; Donald N. LaRochelle and his companion, Erin, of Cumberland, RI and Paul E. LaRochelle and his wife, Donna Marie, of Alton Bay, NH; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mrs. LaRochelle was the sister of the late Evelina A. Blanchette; Ernest Chamberlain; Otis Chamberlain; Armand Chamberlain and Arthur Chamberlain.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic Street, South Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dolores' name to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
