Dinesh C. Patel, 79, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Manjulaben Dinesh Chandra Patel.
Dinesh was born on October 26, 1940 in Baroda, India. He was the son of the late Chimanbhai Patel and the late Shantaben Patel. Dinesh was raised in India before moving to Nairobi, Kenya where he lived with his wife and three children and started his own business as an electrician.
On a mission to provide a better life and education for his children, Dinesh (who was 54 years old at the time) and his wife decided to move to the United States, setting off for the unknown and leaving a comfortable life behind. In 1994 he and his family landed first in Framingham, MA prior to calling Attleboro his new home in 1996. Dinesh was an earnest and dedicated man, working several different jobs to fulfill his mission, including a 10-year employment at Texas Instruments before retiring in 2004.
Dinesh had varied interests. He was an avid gymnast and mud-pit wrestler growing up and enjoyed watching India in cricket matches whenever he had free time. Dinesh was known as a very happy, content and peaceful man. He was known to be a man of very few words who found joy in sitting back and watching his large and boisterous family gather. More than anything, Dinesh treasured his family and loved spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, Manjulaben, Dinesh leaves his loving children: Ulupi Patel and husband Rajnikant of Attleboro; Punit Patel and wife Reena of Easton, MA; and Hemal Patel and wife Apeksha of Dallas, TX. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of five grandchildren: Harsh, Nidhi, Annika, Kaya and Niah. Dinesh also leaves two younger sisters, Shakuben Patel (India), Nisha Jayprakesh Patel (London) and one younger brother, Rajnikant Chimanbhai Patel (London), several nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
A Private Traditional Hindu Service and Cremation Service will be held for Dinesh on Monday, May 4, 2020 at North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
