Dianne Marie (Jett) MacKinnon, 64, of Slater Street, Attleboro; a North Attleboro native, went to meet the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at her residence following a long illness and as she was surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on May 28, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Alexis Jett, Sr. and Florence Louise (Rondeau) Jett. Raised and educated in North Attleboro, Ms. MacKinnon was a 1966 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She resided in North Attleboro until moving to Attleboro 35 years ago. Ms. MacKinnon was employed as an insurance broker for more than 20 years at Ora A. Andrews Insurance Agency, Inc. in Brockton until her retirement due to illness in 2010. She attended Good News Bible Chapel, Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included the time spent canning fruits and vegetables and making jams and jellies, something learned in early years on the family farm on Hoppin Hill Road and as one of twelve children. As an ardent vegetable and flower gardener, each spring she would plant hundreds of dahlia bulbs around her property. An amazing baker, she will be lovingly remembered for her tasteful pies and breads. Ms. McKinnon was an avid reader, traveler and boater. As a cross stitcher and knitter, she often made sweaters and mittens for family and friends. Although a woman of many interests and favorite pastimes, her most treasured times were those spent in the company of family and dear friends. She will be forever remembered for the large family gatherings she hosted at her home during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and for the annual summer cookout held the third weekend of each and every August for more than 25 years at her home. She leaves three children: Michael A. MacKinnon of North Attleboro; Sharon D. MacKinnon of Attleboro and David W. MacKinnon of Attleboro; three grandchildren: Rachael, Joshua and Erik Cordeiro all of Norton; her siblings: Norma Chestnut of Willimantic, Connecticut; Joan Leclerc of North Attleboro; Janet Stone of North Attleboro; Suzanne A. Jett of North Attleboro; Yvette Jett of North Attleboro; Lawrence Jett of Pawtucket, RI; Lillian DiOrio of North Smithfield, RI and Robert Jett of Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Joseph A. Jett, Jr. who died in 1996, Florence L. Jett who died on January 1, 1999 and Roger Jett who died on April 15, 2004.
