Diane "DeeDee" (Babbitt) Santos, R.N., 57, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, formerly of Bristol, RI and Plainville, MA, passed away on January 23, 2023, in Fall River, MA in the company of her loving daughter's and family.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 14, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Russell Babbitt and the late Shirley J. (Perreault) Babbitt.
A Portsmouth, Rhode Island resident for the past two years having moved to the community from Bristol, Rhode Island where she had been a resident for 21 years. She was raised and educated in Plainville, MA.
She was employed as a neonatal registered nurse for 34 years having been employed by Women & Infants Hospital, Providence, RI. The children that she worked with at the hospital brought her great joy and love.
Her world revolved around her daughters and Mike Farias, as family and friends were of the utmost importance to her. She enjoyed long car rides with her life partner, Mike, laughing and making memories to cherish forever. Always the consummate hostess, she loved to entertain and host parties at her home.
Diane loved the arts of various mediums, had a love for cooking and an amazing circle of devoted and loving friends.
An animal lover, her beloved dog, "Buddy", a five year old goldendoodle, will miss her presence and company.
She leaves her two cherished daughters: Athena F. Santos of North Providence, Rhode Island and Avalon G. Santos of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; her sister: Kim Lafond and her husband, Barry R. Lafond, of Roseville, California; her life partner: Mike Farias of Fall River, MA; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many amazing and loving and close friends.
She was the sister of the late Rusty Babbitt and the late Randy Babbitt.
