Diane Dale Days

d. January 1, 2001

Diane Dale (Johnson) Days was born on October 11, 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts and passed away from this life on February 9, 2007 at 5:30 PM when the Angels of Mercy visited her in the Cape Cod Hospital Emergency Room. She visibly talked to them and then said out loud that she was ?going to be with Jesus?. Shortly afterward she was transformed into a new spirit, escaping the physical boundaries of her sick and tired body. Born the daughter of Florence Newton Jenkins and George Johnson, she lived most of her life in Roxbury, Massachusetts. She was educated in the Boston school system attending Jeremiah E. Burke High School from which she graduated. Diane was a housewife and a foster mother who opened her heart and home to more than a hundred foster children over the years. She was an also an active member of the community letting her voice be heard in the Randolph Concerned Citizens forum, for which she was the recipient of an award bestowed by then Governor Michael Dukakis. She served as secretary of the United Holy Church of America for many years. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Richard M. Days, Sr. on June 12, 1965 and to this union they were granted three children: Deidre, Angela and Richard M. ?Ricky? Days, Jr. Diane was a Christian with a strong and firm belief in Jesus Christ. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and attended The Holy Temple Church under Pastor James Sneed, D.D. She continued faithfully devoting her time and energy to her church, Bethel Pentecostal Church of Roxbury under the pasturage of Dr. Marcus Bennett. Currently she was a member of the United Urban Assembly Church under the pasturage of Rev. James Harrell until her failing health made it difficult for her to attend and participate in church services and activities. Even in the face of illness and death, she never faltered in her faith and would say that the Lord was giving her the strength to sustain her trials. Left to mourn her passing, she leaves with cherished memories her husband of forty-one years, Richard M. Days, Sr. of Mashpee; two daughters: Deidre Dale Days of Brockton and Angela Denise Days of Randolph; three grandchildren whom will sadly miss her: Michaun, A?Deisha and Markia; her father: George Johnson of New Haven, CT; a brother: Wayne Jenkins of Lowell, MA; three aunts: Jeanette and Lucille both of San Francisco, California and Barbara Newton of Palm Bay, Florida; an uncle: Ed Newton of San Francisco, California; several dear cousins: Donna, Lionel, George and Joy all in California; a sister-in-law: Marion Dillon, several nieces, nephews and a host of foster children, alone with numerous other relatives and friends and her caregiver ? Norma Harvey. Diane is preceded in death by her son, Richard M. ?Ricky? Days, Jr. and her mother, Mrs. Florence Jenkins and her mother-in-law Hazel Days. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend A Memorial Celebration for a Life Well Lived on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 452 Main Street, Brockton with Elder James Harrell, officiating.
