Dian Mary (Harris) Foster, 60, of Park Street, Attleboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the longtime companion of Richard S. Walsh with whom she shared 26 years and was the former wife of the late Paul David Foster who died in 1997. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 9, 1953, she was the daughter of Lillian F. (Roy) Harris of North Attleboro and the late Walter E. Harris who died on May 15, 2010. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro where she resided until moving to the City of Attleboro in 1985. Ms. Foster was a 1972 graduate of North Attleboro High School. Since March 2010, Ms. Foster was the owner and operator of Dian's Depot located in the Attleboro train station. A true "people person" she loved the relationships she developed with many of her customers whom quickly became her friends. Prior to opening her own business, Ms. Foster was employed as a supervisor of distribution for Putnam Investments in Franklin for nine years. She enjoyed moments spent at home nurturing her flower garden, creating crafts and sewing. Since her diagnosis in June 2012, her focus was on completing her "bucket list" which she was so very proud of accomplishing. She treasured the time spent with her family at their residence in Wareham creating lifelong memories to cherish forever. Ms. Foster was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, North Attleboro. In addition to her longtime companion with whom she resided and her mother, she leaves two sons: Jeremy Jon Foster and his wife, Elizabeth M. (Luiz) Foster, of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Kevin Paul Foster, Sr. and his wife, Jennifer L. (Neil) Foster of North Attleboro; three grandchildren: Kevin Paul Foster, Jr. of Milford; Emma Kathleen Foster of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Abigail Rae Foster of Cumberland, Rhode Island; two brothers: Joseph Harris of North Attleboro and Robert Harris of Attleboro; five nephews, extended family members, many dear friends and loyal customers. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a ride to visitation simply call the funeral home directly at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 8:30 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Church Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Curran Road, Cumberland, Rhode Island. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Children's room is available during the visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized.
