Dennis Edwin Sorel

Dennis E. Sorel, 74, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA after a four-year battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Donna Frances (Breault) Sorel for forty-nine years. Born on July 28, 1942 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Evans) Sorel.Dennis was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Providence College, and Bentley College. He retired in January 2006 after working for more than forty-years as an Auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. He proudly and honorably served our country as a member of the National Guard. A longtime resident of North Attleboro, he was a member of St. Mark's Church in Attleboro Falls. A hockey and football fan, above all else, Dennis cherished spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children: Dennis M. Sorel of VA; Kimberly A. Sorel of VA; Peter A. Sorel of North Attleboro, MA; and Karen E. Sorel of North Attleboro, MA. He was the brother of Edward, Shirley, and Carol; and leaves several nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his brother, Franklin.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dennis by gathering for a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Burial services will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Children's room is available during visitation and funeral services.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dennis to Saint Mary's Sacred Heart School, 57 Richards Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
