Debra Ann (Denham) Poirier, 54, of Attleboro, a former resident of the greater Lowell area, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a brief illness. Born on February 6, 1957 in Lowell, Massachusetts, Ms. Poirier was the daughter of Barbara A. (King) Libby of Ashland, New Hampshire and the late George E. Denham. She was the stepdaughter of Raymond Libby of Ashland, New Hampshire. Raised and educated in Lowell, Ms. Poirier was a 1974 graduate of Lowell High School. A resident of Attleboro for the past 12 years, she previously resided in Middleboro; California; New Hampshire and the greater Lowell area. Ms. Poirier was employed as a licensed real estate sales associate in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and was currently employed by RE/MAX Real Estate Center of North Attleboro and was a former associate of Ed Pariseau Century 21 in North Attleboro. She was a member of numerous professional real estate organizations and was a member of the United Regional Chamber of Commerce. For several years she was a participant in the North Attleboro Relay for Life to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Her favorite pastimes included traveling to places including Florida, Northern California and Europe. She will be most lovingly remembered for having a big heart and treasured the times spent with family and friends at get-togethers and celebrations as they created lifelong memories to cherish. In addition to her mother and stepfather, she is survived by her son: Michael W. Vaillancourt and his wife, Jennifer (Lewis) Vaillancourt, of Marlborough; a brother: Richard G. Denham and his wife, Josephine (Welles) Denham of San Jose, California; a sister: Karen L. Landry and her husband, Peter Landry, of Tewksbury; a sister-in-law: Marianne Craddock of Cotuit; two stepbrothers: Douglas Oakes and his wife, Kelly Oakes, of Lowell and Brian Oakes of Tyngsboro; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and business colleagues. She was the sister of the late Douglas G. Denham whom had resided in Cotuit. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, January, 26, 2012 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A brief Prayer Service will be held during visitation on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 6:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Gretchen Robinson, Chaplain of the CVNA Hospice, officiating. Burial will be private. Childrens room is available during visitation and prayer service. Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ms. Poiriers name may be made to CVNA Hospice, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Donations to A.C.S. should designate for lung cancer research.
