Deborah J. (Erskine) Ali, "Forever 17ish", of Norton, MA, passed away surrounded by family on January 15, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA following an illness.
Born in Boston, (on an undisclosed date), was the daughter of the late Philip Erskine and the late Rose Erskine. She was raised and educated in Roslindale and later earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees from the University of Massachusetts.
She was an outstanding educator and an award winning, recognized drama coach for the Quincy School Department for many years prior to her 2018 retirement. Her happiest times were teaching her students, spending time with family, playing Lizzie Borden & wearing her purple jeweled sunglasses.
She leaves behind her longtime boyfriend: Patrick F. Moran of Brockton,MA; her cousin, who was more like a sister that she resided with, Catherine E. Hart of Norton, MA; a "brother": Stephen E. Whitten and his wife, Caitlin Whitten, of Norton, MA; a sister: Carolyn H. Goodale of Westwood, MA; and several nieces, nephews and former students. She was the canine companion of the late "Guinness" and was the sister of the late Kenneth Erskine and Philip Erskine.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial will follow in the Newland Cemetery, Norton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Deborah's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
