Dawn T. Whitten

Dawn Thornton (Post) Whitten, 83, of Brentwood, NH, peacefully passed away at her place of residence on Monday, February 20, 2017. Born on February 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Post and the late Doris (Smith) Post.Dawn was a graduate of Norton High School, Class of 1951, and received her Associate's Degree from Fisher Junior College. She worked for twenty-five years as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Leo R. Muido in Duxbury, MA, before retiring. She previously worked for ten years as a Director and Teacher for the Steeple School of Trinity Church in Marshfield, MA. A resident of Brentwood, NH for the past seven years, she previously lived in Weymouth, MA, and Marshfield, MA. An active and engaging woman, Dawn enjoyed golf, cross-country skiing, traveling, and choral singing. She generously volunteered her time and efforts for her local animal shelter and for the Boston Ballet. Dawn is survived by her dear children: Geoffrey Little of New Haven, CT, and June Little of Brentwood, NH. She was the adoring grandmother of four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and was the sister of the late Richard Post of North Attleboro, MA.Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA, followed by a reception at the church. A Graveside Service will follow the service at North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations may be made in Dawn's memory to the New Hampshire SPCA, P.O.
