David Otis Wilson, 76, of Plainville, Massachusetts, passed away quietly on September 22, 2026.

Born on March 4, 1950, David was the beloved son of the late Edwin Otis Wilson and Myrtle Louise (Goff) Wilson. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Beverly Frazier and Shirley Goodrick Smith.

David was married to Marilyn Anne (Cody) Wilson for more than 50 years.

David is also survived by his son, Jason Otis Wilson and his wife, Meredith Kennedy Wilson, and his daughter, Rebecca Anne Wilson. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jackson Otis Wilson, Lennox Otis Wilson, and Leilany Ava Anne Wilson, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life. David also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends.

A proud veteran, David honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

David embraced retirement with enthusiasm. He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, enjoying nature, or setting off on another adventure in his RV. Together with Marilyn, he traveled extensively across the United States, creating lasting friendships everywhere he went. David never met a stranger; his personality, welcoming spirit, and genuine interest in others made it easy for him to connect with people from all walks of life.

He had a lifelong passion for antique furniture and classic automobiles, taking great pleasure in appreciating the craftsmanship and history behind each piece. Whether restoring, collecting, or simply sharing stories, David's enthusiasm was contagious. His love of cars extended to auto racing, which he followed with great excitement throughout the years.

An avid sports fan, David faithfully followed his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, rarely missing the opportunity to cheer them on. Whether watching a game with family and friends or discussing the latest season, he enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement that sports brought into his life.

In addition to his many hobbies, David was an avid bowler, enjoying the competition, friendships, and memories that came with spending time at the lanes. Bowling was one of the many activities that reflected his outgoing nature and love of being around people.

David also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, who provided him with endless comfort, companionship, and happiness. They were faithful friends who accompanied him through many of life's adventures and quiet moments alike.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and loved ones to honor David's memory by spending time outdoors, casting a line in a favorite fishing spot, embarking on a new adventure, or simply sharing stories with family and friends, just as David would have loved. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 5pm until 7pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA.

Military honors will be rendered prior to visitation beginning at 5pm.
Services will be held privately at a later date.
