David Thomas Tejada Lopez, 70, of Mansfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, surrounded by his family at his home. He was the beloved husband of Moraima (Regalado) Tejada, to whom he was married on August 30, 1969.Born on December 29, 1946 in the Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Jose and Fransisca (Lopez) Tejada.David worked for many years in the Dominican Republic in Property Management and Rentals, Retail Sales, and as a Convenience Store Owner. He loved the outdoors - caring for his yard and property, and tending to his gardens and red roses. He was a tireless worker his whole life, and was truly a good and caring man who would help anyone in need and opened his home to those in need of food and a hot shower. He always held a special place in his heart for his dog, "Coffee" who he sadly had to give away so that he could come to the United States. More than anything, though, David loved his family.In addition to his wife, Moraima, he is survived by his loving children: George L. Tejada and his wife, Doris More , of Central Falls, RI; Anyolina Cordona and her husband, Eddy, of Providence, RI; Maribel M. Tejada and her husband, Richard A. Willis, of Mansfield, MA; and Aydenelly Tejada of the Dominican Republic. He was the adoring grandfather of seven grandchildren. David was the dear brother of Ouidio, Remberto, Romita, Isabel, Dulcemillo, Jose, and Mercedes, and leaves numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends, both near and far.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember David by gathering for a Visitation on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
